It is not necessary to change the creator code of system sound files since the system plays these automatically when you double click them.
The program you use to create sound files may allow you to set the creator code or you can use one of a number of free or shareware programs to change the creator code of an existing file.
If you give a sound file the Fast Sound Player creator code (eAN5) then double clicking it launches Fast Sound Player automatically and starts to play the sound. Whether you prefer dragging or double clicking to play a sound is a personal preference.
All data files on the Macintosh have a 4 character creator code that identifies which application to launch when the file is double clicked.
